Environmental technology

Environmental technology (abbreviated as EnviroTech) or green technology (abbreviated as GreenTech) or clean technology (abbreviated as CleanTech) is the application of the environmental sciences to conserve the natural environment and resources, and to curb the negative impacts of human involvement while maintaining a substantial profit margin. Sustainable development is the core of environmental technologies. When applying sustainable development as a solution for environmental issues, the solutions need to be socially equitable, economically viable, and environmentally sound. Green anarchists, criticise the concept due to their view of technology requiring the exploitation of the environment, thus making the idea contradictory.

Space-based Staring Infrared Sensors

The US, in 1970, launched the first of a series of space-based staring array sensors that detected and located infrared heat signatures. Such signatures, which are associated with measurement of energy and location, are not pictures in the IMINT sense. Currently called the Satellite Early Warning System (SEWS), the program is the descendant of several generations of Defense Support Program (DSP) spacecraft.

Originally intended to detect the intense heat of an ICBM launch, this system proved useful at a theater level in 1990-1991. It detected the launch of Iraqi Scud missiles in time to give early warning to potential targets.

Entrepreneurial cybernetics

entrepreneurial cybernetics is primarily concerned with applying the knowledge gained from general cybernetic theories applicable in everyday business contexts. Rules and methods for establishing and improving regulation, control and communication are focused on helping and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. Such businesses act as a major driving force in many of today’s economies and it is therefore important that entrepreneurial cybernetics offers them new ways of thinking and approaching business so that they can survive in increasingly complex and competitive markets.
